Prospective Suppliers

Once you have completed registration, you will receive confirmation acknowledging that your information has been added to our prospective supplier list.

ALLETE’s purchasing team will have access to this system to search for prospective suppliers as opportunities become available. Please note, completing the registration does not guarantee business with ALLETE.

Bidding

To be considered for bidding opportunities with ALLETE’s subsidiaries, your company needs to be registered as a prospective or active supplier in our system. All bidding opportunities are housed in our Oracle iSupplier system, suppliers will be invited to bids directly by members of the purchasing team.

Procurement best practices
Suppliers are required to participate in bid and procurement processes in accordance with best practices. Best practices include communicating only with named ALLETE representatives during contract negotiations or bid evaluation and refraining from attempts to influence ALLETE employees or senior managers in order to obtain work.

This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines ALLETE’s expectations, and any failure to comply with these minimum requirements may jeopardize a Supplier’s relationship with ALLETE.

System Training Guides (Oracle iSupplier)

The safety and security of employees, contractors and visitors is the utmost importance to ALLETE. Suppliers will be held responsible for the actions of their employees and any sub-contractor employees. All applicable rules, laws, regulations, and ALLETE policies shall be observed.

Contractor training is mandatory for all contractors who perform services for ALLETE and its subsidiaries and who wish to remain on our bidders list. This training needs to be completed on an annual basis for current, active suppliers.

ISNetworld

ALLETE, Inc. has established a business relationship with ISNetworld to serve as our primary contractor management administrator to manage contractor safety prequalification requirements. Most contractors performing physical work for ALLETE subsidiaries will be required to become subscribers to ISNetworld. Your ALLETE business partners will work with you to gain a clear understanding of the nature of your work, exposure, and risk to identify if your company may need to be a subscriber of ISN.

Your company’s ISNetworld subscription will provide ALLETE access to the following required information:

  1. Company Profile - Populate your company profile in ISNetworld to include company contact information, office locations, types of work/industry classifications, etc.
  2. EHS Questionnaire - ISNetworld contains the Management System Questionnaire (MSQ) that will be used to gather your company’s EHS data.
  3. Documents - ALLETE will use ISNetworld to track and verify your company’s OSHA Forms and current EMR.
  4. Health, Safety and Environmental Programs - Your company will submit their written safety and environmental programs that meet all Federal and State OSHA requirements. ISN’s Review and Verification Services will review your programs for compliance. Programs that do not meet the standards must be updated and resubmitted for auditing approval.
